Resumen:
POAP-coated gold film electrodes were subjected to prolonged potentiodynamic cycling and the evolution of the electrochemical response was studied by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Surface Resistance (SR) measurements. An attenuation of both responses was observed for a POAP-modified electrode which was subjected to a great number of potential cycles (> 500) as compared with the corresponding responses of an electrode only subjected to a number of potential cycles lower than 500. Attenuation of the relative resistance changes (DR/R) allowed one to infer that inactive zones are developed within the redox sites configuration after prolonged poentiodynamic cycling. The presence of inactive zones causes an increase in the hopping distance between adjacent redox sites, which in turn should decrease the polymer conductivity. Impedance measurements were employed to verify the conductivity decrease at POAP films subjected to a great number of potential cycles. Interpretation of impedance diagrams employing the model described in Ref [21] allowed one to extract dependences of the diffusion coefficient and charge transfer resistance on the degree of deactivation of the POAP film.
