Resumen:
Acrylic polymers are widely used by its applications; particularly tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate (THFA) is used in dental applications (Labella et al., 1996), patterning (Se-Jin Choi et al., 2009), medical materials (Mochizuki et al., 2009), among others. The use of the microwave energy as a new methodology for carrying out more safe, clean and efficient chemical reactions was known for a long time (Lidström et al., 2001) and has spread rapidly to the field of polymer science (Bogdal et al., 2003). This work presents the homopolymerization of the THFA under microwave energy and the polymer characterization.
