The dynamical aspects of tissue structures are crucial during development and regeneration. Quantitative approaches are needed to model such processes and provide high temporal and spatial resolution. The Vertex model is one of these approaches. In this modeling strategy, cells are modeled as polygons which vertices move according to the interaction between them. Here we present a computational package that implemented a 2D Vertex Model in Python which is user friendly: SysVert. It is able to successfully simulate processes like cell proliferation or apoptosis efficiently as well as allows for multi-scale systems biology strategies.
