Resumen:
This work presents a summary of the hydrochemical and isotopic characteristics of the main groundwater bodies located in sand dune environments of the Centre ? East region of La Pampa province, integrating hydrogeological areas of aquifers referred as ?Intendente Alvear?, General Pico-Dorila?, ?Quemu Quemu?, ?Toay-Santa Rosa-Anguil?, y ?Valle Argentino.The fundamental objective is to compile all the hydrochemical and isotopic results obtained up to day. In this region, which constitutes a third part of the major part of the province, with the exception of the west extreme, the sand dune environments form preferential groundwater recharge areas, with a hydrodynamic behaviour proper of a subhumid-semiarid plain. Exploration studies show significant spatial variability of the chemical arrange and the presence of oligoelements harmful for human health. These aquifers, generally, present a temporal hydrochemical and isotopic homogeneity according to the collected analyses. It was observed a regional analogy attributed to a similar hydrodynamic behaviour and a homogeneous sedimentology. The isotopic characterization has been completed through the study of the isotope composition of groundwater and precipitation. The obtained results allow us to define the recharge areas which define the exploitation zones of these aquifers.
