The aim of this work is to obtain and to characterize phenolic resin/carbon fiber- prepregs and its composites, which can be used in the aerospace industry. Nanoclays (bentonites) were chemically modified and added to phenolic resin in order to evaluate their effect on the performance of the material. Cone calorimeter fire properties of the composites were studied.
