The present Atlas provides census-derived information on the relationship between health variables and socioeconomic vulnerability, disaggregated geographically at the level of nations? smallest administrative divisions. Many statistical tables, maps and charts are included to permit a quick graphic grasp of differences within the countries, and to facilitate decision-making when designing and implementing social policy or specific measures to improve material living conditions associated with health (for instance, expansion of drinking water systems, sanitation services, and waste disposal).
