This book presents the most relevant papers presented at the International Congress of Environmental Science and Technology, and I National Congress of the Argentinean Society of Environmental Sciences and Technologies, held in from May 28th to June the 1st, in the City of Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. This Congress named Argentina y Ambiente 2012, took place under the headline of ?A crosscutting and comprehensive look at environmental problems?.Advanced Oxidation Technologies (AOTs) or Processes (AOPs) are relatively new and innovative technologies to remove harmful and toxic pollutants. These technologies are also relatively low-cost and therefore useful for countries under development where the economical resources are less scarce than in developed countries. In Latin America, AOTs are only know in academic circles without almost any real application. However, the scientific papers on the subjects are increasing more and more in last times.
