Resumen:
The main objective of this paper is to measure thermal parameters (cooling rates, temperature gradients andvelocities of the liquidus and solidus isotherms), structural parameters (grain size and primary and secondarydendritic spacings) and tensile parameters (maximum tensile strength (TS), yield strength (YS) and ultimatetensile strength (UTS)) in Zinc-Aluminum (ZA) hypoeutectic and hypereutectic alloys, directionally solidifiedwhich present columnar, equiaxed and columnar to equiaxed transition structures (CET). The different types ofstructures were analyzed with optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Correlations between grain sizeand dendritic spacings with the parameters of the tensile tests are presented and discussed. The results showedthe influence of concentration, microstructural arrangement and thermal conditions during solidification on themechanical properties. Also, we compared the results of the present investigation with the relevant works in theliterature
