Resumen:
Titanium alloys form a versatile class of biomedical metallic materials. Among them, the â alloys are the most promising as biomaterials due to their high mechanical strength, good corrosion resistance and elevated biocompatibility. The aim of this work was to analyze the stability of phases in â Ti-Nb alloys evaluating the influence of the Nb content on the microstructure, obtained under different heat treatment conditions. Therefore, Ti-Nb alloys containing 5 to 35% (wt%) Nb were melted and evaluated. Samples were arc melted and the characterization involved optical, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The Young?s modulus was primarily evaluated by acoustic techniques.
