Resumen:
The process of metacyclogenesis in Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas disease, involves the transformation of non-infective epimastigotes to metacyclic trypomastigotes, and is related to nutritional stress. This evidence, combined with the participation of two proteins that stimulate the autophagy process, named TcVps34 and TcVps15, lead us to postulate a possible function of these proteins in the signaling required for metacyclogenesis.
