Towards detecting traces of non-contact quantum friction in the corrections of the geometric phase

The idea presented borrows a fundamental brick of quantum computation and uses it at a sensor of the particle?s degree of freedom: the phase-lag induced by the motion on the fluctuating dipole results in dynamical effects that can be traced by the use of the accumulated geometric phase.
