Resumen:
UPRIGHT TEXTURAL AND COMPOSITIONAL VARIATION IN THE MASSIVE SULPHIDES DEPOSIT OF LA COLORADA MINE (SALTA). La Colorada mine is a Massive Sulphides deposit of Ordovician age. It is located in Cobres (Salta, Argentina), at an average altitude of 3.900 m a.s.l. Ore is made up of the metallic association Fe-Cu-Pb-Zn with traces of Au, Ag and Bi. Mineralogy includes dominant pyrrhotine, accompanied by sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, and minor amounts of electrum-associated arsenopyrite. Currently, it is classified as a Kuroko type VMS deposit. This contribution aims to provide data about the vertical variation of the textures, mineralogical composition and hydrothermal alteration registered in a ~40 m thick mineralized sequence registered in a drilling core of La Colorada deposit.
