Resumen:
Drug repositioning in oncology refers tothe application of drugs designed for other uses that showedantitumor effect. Metformin is an antidiabetic drug andpropranolol is a ß-blocker. We have reported that M+P treatmentreduced tumor growth and lung metastases development in twotriple negative mammary tumor models. Also, we found thatM+P combination showed a potential adjuvant effect in both invivo models. To further deepen our studies, we aimed to explorethe effect of M+P on different events of the metastatic cascade intriple negative 4T1 mouse tumor model. We extracted bloodfrom BALB/c mice bearing tumors in the exponential growthphase of: C (control) and M+P [treated with M (2g/l) + P(25mg/l)] groups. A lower percentage of epithelial cells wasfound in M+P group (flow cytometry, p= 0.06). To characterizesurvival and extravasation of circulating tumor cells, mice werei.v inoculated with 5x104 green tracker labeled cells and treatedas C or M+P. After 2 days, M+P group showed lower percentageof circulating tumor cells (p
