Resumen:
A moderate zinc deficient diet during pregnancy and/or growth induces low birth weight and renal disfunction, such asreduced glomerular filtration rate, decreased activity of nitric oxide system, increased fibrotic processes and oxidative stress. These alterations are more evident in males tan females. The aim of this study was to evaluate the renal renin-angiotensin system (RAS) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) in adult male and female rats exposed to a moderaate zinc deficient diet during fetal and/or postnatal growth. Female Wistar rats received during pregnancy up to weaning low (L:8ppm) or control (C:30ppm) zinc diet. After weaning L offspring, male(m) or female (f), fed low (l) or control( c) zinc diet during 60 days /Llm, Llf, Lcm, Lcf). C offspring fed control ( C) zinc diet during their whole lives (ccm, ccf). At day 81 we measured SBP (mmHg) and we evaluated in renal cortex: AT-1R and AT-2R receptors by western blot (AT-1R or nM/g tissue). Values are means +/- SEM, n=6/group. Two way ANOVA, Bonferroni posttest. *p
