Resumen:
This presentation focuses on the phenomenon of hermeneutical injustice in relation to the experiences of trans men, how such injustice is produced and what its consequences are. I will focus specifically on the ArgentAin case, and suggest that in our context ?trans? is affirmed as a general term, but is in fact applied to the fémale spectrum of trans experiences, whereas ?male? is used as a synonim of cis men. Building on this fact, I will consider the place left for trans men in this scenario and the hermeneutical void when trying to make sense of their experiences of exclusion. My goal is to show that, due to a phenomenon of hermeneutical injustice, it is currently very difficult (even for the subjects themselves) to interpret the very serious problems trans men face daily due to cissexism. As a consequence, it may be the case that for trans men, the recognition of gender identity - which in Argentina is a right since 2012 ? entails a loss of capacity to interpret and address this population?s experiences of abuse, violence andexclusion.
