Resumen:
Diffusion weighted imaging in Magnetic Resonance (MRI) is a powerful non-invasive technique for microstructure characterization. However, attaining microstruc-ture resolution is still a challenge as the MRI resolution is much larger. Resorting totools from quantum information theory, we analytically derive the ultimate precisionlimits for estimating microstructure sizes as the one given by restriction lengths indiffusion processes with diffusion weighted MRI sequences. We provide the controlconditions, exemplifying with routinely gradient waveforms and with generic geome-tries of the microstructures, to achieve this precision limit in the estimation consideringlimitations imposed by T2 relaxation
