Resumen:
The diurnal, seasonal and solar activity variations of the equivalent slab thickness (EST) over three European stations are studied using total electron content and F2-layer peak electron density data collected simultaneously at Pruhonice (50.0°N, 15.0°E), Ebro (40.8°N, 0.49°E) and El Arenosillo (37.1°N, 353.3°E). The diurnal variation is characterized by daytime values lower than nighttime ones during the winter and equinoctial months. Large peaks are observed at pre-sunrise and pre-midnight periods. The seasonal variations of EST depend on the local time and solar activity. The analysis of the solar activity dependence on EST indicates that it varies with seasons. Comparisons with the IRI EST predictions are also than. The results of the study are compared with those presented by other authors.
