Resumen:
The combination of silver nanoparticles (AgNP) with antibiotics (Ciprofloxacin-CIP) was proposed to solve the resistance of different kinds of bacteria to phamaceuticals1. The synergic effect of Ag-CIP against Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) bacteria was more effective than conventional antibiotic treatments and improves patient health by reduce antibiotic dose2. On the other hand, the emergence of pollutants in aquatic ecosystems requires urgent studies of the ecotoxicological effect of both individual and combined antibiotics on non-target organisms. During these bioassays, analytical methodologies that allow simultaneous detection of analytes must be available with monitoring purposes. Anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) is a highly sensitive electrochemical technique that has the potential to provide information on the metals that make up the nanoparticles, including aggregation status, surface coverage, concentration and dynamics of interaction between the electrode and the nanoparticle. Objectives:Evaluate the combined ecotoxicity effects of AgNP-CIP in 48-h acute tests on the native cladoceran Ceriodaphnia dubia.Apply an electrochemical method based on ASV using mono-use electrodes modified with bismuth (SPE-Bi) to detect simultaneously the metal silver product of the suspension of AgNP and CIP during acute ecotoxicological tests.
