Resumen:
T he eruption of Puyehue Cordón Caulle (40.590° S, 72.112° W) started on June 4 at 18:45 UTC (14:45 Local time) releasing a Plinian Subplinian eruption column that excee ded 12 km a.s.l.While the eruption was in process, a significant amount of ash was ejected into the atmosphere causing a lot of inconveniences in several countries The electrical activity that was generated for the eruption wasdetected and registered by the World Wide Lightning Location Network ( The first detected lightning related to the eruption, was at 18:41 UTC. In the period of explosive stage of the eruption occurred different events associated to the electric discharges were detected, the se events showed different durations, rates of discharges and spatial distributions. In our work we analyze themeteorological parameters in the region of the Puyehue Cordón Caulle volcanic complex considering the days before and after the eruption, to know the conditions in which the electrical activity detected by the global WWLLN network was developed and to distinguish, how the atmospheric parameters could influence the generation of electric discharges. With these data and in conjunction with the ch aracteristics of the p lume , we try to estimate the dynamics of the volcanic plume and the charge mechanism working during this phenomenon.
