NICI Images of Near-by Stars Associated with Debris Disks

Using Ks and H band images obtained in August 2010 with NICI and the ADI technique, we identified at least three very faint sources in the field of two debris disks stars, HD 187897 and HD 201219. If gravitational bound to the central stars, these objects would have masses in the sub-stellar or planetary regimens, according to our very crude magnitude and color estimations. In order to confirm if the detected sources are gravitationally bounded, we submitted a proposal to get new epoch images of both stars with NICI during the first semester of 2012. This new set of images will allow us to measure proper motions for the sources and confirm if the stars and the sources detected in the field share the same proper motions.
