Resumen:
We present a framework for the analysis of optimality of adaptive,time-stepping finite element methods.We state the concept of best approximation in terms of total number of degrees of freedom and discuss on different regularity spaces that will guarantee the optimal algebraic order of convergence.We will consider equal as well as different polynomial degrees in space and time.
