Resumen:
Antiretroviral therapies allowing forregular medical intervention in an optimal feedbackrole are substantiated. Individual therapies areevaluated from a multi-objective cost perspective. The dynamics of the control system is governed bythree state variables: healthy and infected T-cells,infected T-cell and viral particles. The drug doseadministrated to the patient is taken as the controlvariable. One case is discussed: beginning of theinfection. Both open-loop and closed-loop results arepresented. Dynamic Programming has beenemployed in the numerical treatment of the problem.A software package is envisioned to assist physiciansin assessing the patient state, estimatingantiretroviral dose prescriptions for the wholetreatment period, simulating the patient’s evolution, eventually correcting the original sequence inpresence of incoming data, and evaluating combinedcosts of alternative treatment strategies.
