Resumen:
Crabs are highly visual animals that display complex visually guided behaviours. Object mo􀀂on detec􀀂on providesessen􀀂al cues for a wide variety of behaviours such as mate, prey or predator detec􀀂on. In insects and decapodcrustaceans, encoding of object mo􀀂on is associate to visual processing in the third op􀀂c neuropil, the lobula. Due tothe thin caliber of the small-field lobula columnar neurons, almost all we know about object mo􀀂on detec􀀂on arisesfrom studies on their postsynap􀀂c and larger lobula output neurons.
