Resumen:
In this work we present a revision of the construction process of the Free Cathedra of Culture Mbya Guaraní in the scope of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina (UNLP). In this way, the proposal is the institutionalization of spaces for the intercultural dialogue between members of communities Mbya Guarani of the province of Missions, the university community and the society in general. In concordance with a recent phenomena and of strong socio-political repercussion in the Latin American scope, as it is it the claim of cultural, political and territorial autonomy of the ?original? or preexisting populations to the national state, it is required, in the scope of the public policies, of ways of interaction with these groups, taking care of its ethnic, cultural and linguistic particularities. At the same time, to propitiate that these particularities do not become barriers for the communication and/or collaboration between different social groups. To work in joint form with the members of the Mbya communities in initiatives that point at the profit of share traditional and contemporary knowledge and practices, allows us to surpass ?essentialists? views on the original peoples that go through to proposals oriented ?to conserve? the cultural patrimony of these groups strongly anchored in their natural environment. The viability and difficulties to carry out this proposal, have a same origin: the claim of the lands in which both communities are settled and its necessary preservation. The intervention, in this process, of different agents like ENDEPA and other organizations dedicated to the defense of the native rights, has deepened the breach between the academic ideal of conservation and sustainable development and the ideal of restitution of the totality of land demanded by the native populations. The programmatic proposal of the UNLP includes as principal actors the Mbya communities, some of whose members, at first, participated actively in the elaboration of this proposal, assuming teaching responsibilities at the cathedra. At present, the attention to the land claim is considered by them as previous condition to its participation in joint projects. In this way, the requirement has became an obstacle for the development of this educative proposal. The complexity of this process constitutes a challenge in which at the moment we and different actors are immersed. The presentation of this problematic in this scope will allow us to contemplate it and to evaluate it in a joint form, with other less involved glances of a situation that includes and limit us, in order to explore alternative routes of resolution.
