Resumen:
The Blanco River runs through the Aconcagua fold and thrust belt, in northwestern Mendoza. The last study of the Jurassic stratigraphy of the Neuquén basin in the area took place more than twenty years ago. The focus of this work is to determine the stratigraphy of the Jurassic deposits in the autochthonous sector, by analyzing the stratigraphic relations and sedimentary characteristics of the interval assigned by previous authors to that age. We recognized variations in the depositional environment, from marine to continental, controlled by the transgressions and regressions of the Paleo-pacific Ocean and the activity of the arc. Also, the deposits of the Tordillo Formation from the autochthonous were compared to the ones in the second thrust sheet to the West, which are thicker with finer-grained facies, which indicates a more distal position.
