Resumen:
Argentina evidences a high degree of socio-economic inequality among provinces. While the province of Buenos Aires has very high standards in terms of education and public health, the Northern provinces have significantly high maternal mortality rates and low literacy, among others. Considering rampant inequality, the talk focuses on intergovernmental relations and multi- level government in Argentina. We will analyze the fiscal and political decentralization process that the national government and the provinces have carried out in thelast five decades and its outcomes.Specifically, we will discuss the effect of decentralization policies in interregional inequalities. The Harvard community in general, but particularly, interdisciplinary scholars interested in studying inequality as well asLocal Government Law and multilevel government issues, are all welcome
