Resumen:
Nanoparticles (NP) of noble metals play a key role in countless nanoscale photonic applications due to their strong interaction with light, particularly the orders-of-magnitude enhancement shownby the near field when the frequency of the electromagnetic radiation is tuned to specific plasmon resonances of individual particles or aggregates. Control of the NP size and shape, composition, aswell as aggregation, is essential to the development of devices that rely on these parameters to modify the electronic response upon illumination. These parameters also determine the individualand collective vibrational behavior of the NPs which, in turn, is central to the understanding of electronic relaxation via electron-phonon interaction, sound propagation and heat management. Inthis work we succeeded in the assembly of gold nanorods (NR) and started to study the coherent vibrations of the aggregates, excited with a pulsed laser tuned to the plasmon resonances
