Resumen:
A removal method for arsenic in polluted water using zeolites was evaluated. Natural and commercial zeolites were used; the second one was also treated with iron (T-CZ). Adsorption isotherms were evaluated. Pure natural zeolites had more adsorption capacity than commercial ones, and that T-CZ improved the adsorption significantly. Also, experiments at pH 5.5 showed better adsorption capacities compared to those at lower pH values. T-CZ represents a novel material that may be used as filter for Arsenic-contaminated waters.
