Distributionfeederusuallyisbuiltwithoutshieldingconductors.Hence,theseelementscanbegreateraffectedbyovervoltagesproducedbylightningstrokes.ThesephenomenagenerateovervoltagesthatdependingofitscharacteristiccouldresultintheCoronaeffect,whichretardinganddecreasingtheportionofthewavefrontaboveCoronainceptionvoltagewhilethevoltagesaregreaterthantheCoronathreshold. Coronaeffecthasusuallybeenomittedinstudiesandanalysisondistributionfeeders.Inthispaper,ananalysisoftheinfluenceofCoronaeffectonrealdistributionfeederispresented.
