Resumen:
It is clear that the development of new methodologiesthat increase the electrical systems efficiency and thewelfare of users, avoiding pollution as best as possible, arehighly desired by researchers and utilities. In this context, inEcuador, basic service elements like water heaters are usuallyused by population. Where, currently water heaters based onLiquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) are used. However, these devicesare harmful for the country?s economy. In this research, anovel prototype corresponding to an induction water heateris proposed. This has three operation stages corresponding torectification, filtering, and controlling single-phase inverter bysinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM). In order to validatethe proposed work, different test at each operation state, weredeveloped. Results show an acceptable performance. Therefore,the prototype can be considered as an alternative to traditionaldevices.
