Resumen:
Statistical methods have been used in developing and optimizing extended release formulations, by selecting the formulation parameters that are expected to produce the desired release profile. Estradiol (E2) transdermal systems are indicated for the relief of menopausal and postmenopausal symptoms. Polymeric membranes with skin-imitating permeability properties appear as attractive models in the evaluation of transdermal drug delivery systems (1, 2). The aim of this study was to develop a chitosan (CHT) film for E2 delivery, using for in vitro release experiments a CHT membrane with permeability properties similar to the human skin epidermis.
