Resumen:
The convertion of renewable fuels, e.g. ethanol, into hydrogen is an important research area. We describe an alternative method to produce and indirectly storage hydrogen based on iron – iron oxides and reversible systems. In this system, ethanol is to reduce the iron oxide to Fe. Metallic iron can degraded as a H2 “reservoir” since it can be stored, easily transported and, when needed, hydrogen can be produced by a simple reaction with water.
