Resumen:
The electrical conductivity test (CE) measures the cell membranes damage. Seed deterioration implies an increase of solutes released from the cell during imbibition and lower vigor. To be effective, the EC must satisfactorily estimate the field emergence. The objective was to analyze the sunflower seeds vigor through EC and its correlation with field emergence. Treatments were: seeds of high (A), medium (M) and low (B) vigor. The correlation was significantwith the Kotowski indices (r=0.45) and TME, expressed in days, ttair and tt-soil (r=0.49). The EC test successfully discriminated the sunflower seeds vigor with a better correlation with the TME.
