Resumen:
The aim of this portal is to provide an authoritative and comprehensive list of names of insects from Argentina and Uruguay including images, synonymy, distribution,the most relevant literature and,when pertinent,information on host plants.BiodAr has an editorial board that is responsible for its quality standards. Every checklist has a taxonomic expert who develops and curates the information content.Keeping BiodAr up-to-date is a continuous process as new literature is published and so an update of the portal is done every three months. The portal is supported by the software Taxonio developed by Hernán Pereira and José Luis Pereira.
