Nanotubes of rare earth cobalt oxides for cathodes of intermediatetemperature solid oxide fuel cells

In this work we studied theelectrochemical properties of cathodes forintermediate-temperature solid oxide fuelcells (IT-SOFCs) [1] prepared with nanotubesof La0.6Sr0.4CoO3 (LSCO) [2]. Thenanostructure consist of agglomeratednanoparticles in tubular structures of submicrometricdiameter. The resulting cathodesare highly porous both at the micro and thenanoscale. This fact increases significantlythe access to active sites for the oxygenreduction.
