Resumen:
The interstellar medium (ISM) of the Milky Way, when viewed in the neutral hydrogen line emission, shows large structures called Galactic supershells (GSs).They are large voids surrounded completely, or partially, by walls of HI emission. An example of such a structure, GS 153+02-047 is shown in Fig. 1(a). The origin of these structures is still a subject of debate. The most common scenario invoked is the combined action of strong winds from massive stars and their subsequent supernova explosion. In this work we determined the kinetic energies and possible origin of 490 GSs of the Catalog of HI supershell candidates in the outer part of the Galaxy [1]. To obtain all the GSs masses, we have developed an automatic algorithm, which Was tested in 95 GSs whose masses were estimated by independent methods.
