Resumen:
The Diablillos Intrusive Complex (CID) outcrops in the Eastern edge of Southern Puna, in the Inca Viejo Range. This Complex register, in an exceptional manner, magma mixing processes. In this location of the Lower Paleozoic orogen, there is an interaction between mafic rocks (dioritic/gabbroic) with felsic rocks (leucogranites), which in result turns into hybrid intermediate rocks (granodiorites/tonalities). The hybridization process occurred in a mechanic (mingling) and a chemical (mixing) way. The field study showed that different intrusive mafic magmas pulses interacted with a felsic crystalizing magma. Thin sections exhibit low and fast cooling textures, and residual fluids that allowed inferring the structural levels where the magma mixing occurred. Most of the textures would have arisen in lower to middle levels, whereas the cooling and final consolidation textures occurred at middle to upper structural levels.
