AbstractAn overall statistical study of night-time enhancements of NmF2 and TEC has been carried out. All available foF2 and TEC observations since 2001 at Tucuman station were used in the analysis. More than 200 nights of data were analyzed. This data base allowed us to study seasonal and spatial variations of the NmF2 and TEC nighttime enhancements. Both pre-midnight and post-midnight NmF2 and TEC peaks demonstrate distinct variations with geophysical conditions, indicating different physical mechanisms responsible for their formation.
