Resumen:
The effects of the electrochemical functionalization treatments of carbonaceous substrates, carbon fibers (CF) and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) in various acid media and acid mixtures in different proportions are studied in order to be able to deposit Pd nanoparticles. The surface morphologies and properties of substrates before and after electrochemical functionalization are characterized by scanning electron microscopy and cyclic voltammetry. Results show that functional groups of oxygen are introduced and surface roughness is increased on the substrates. Increased nucleation and growth of Pd nanoparticles by means of spontaneous deposition after the functionalization of the supports in acid mixture are clearly observed.
