Resumen:
Argentina has a strong presidential system, and lacks a robust tradition within its public administration. Therefore, presidential and ministerial ?entourages? are very important in the daily operation of the government and the State. Those agents fill multiple positions of political appointment with varying degrees of visibility and decisional power. In this paper we focus on a particular institution that congregates strong men of the president: the ?Jefatura de Gabinete?. We analyze their recruitment patterns, highlighting the importance of interpersonal trust ties and expert networks, and we show how the visibility of entourages seems to be slowly increasing.
