Resumen:
Acetaldehyde(AL) is widely used to produce α,β-unsaturated aldehydes, acetic acid, ethyl acetate and crotonaldehyde among others.Industrially is obtained from ethylene (Wacker process) and acetylene(hydration using mercury salts), but in the near future should be replaced forless environmentally harmful technologies and renewable raw materials such asethanol, succinic acid or lactic acid Lacticacid (LA) is a versatile chemical that can be produced from renewable resourcessuch as biomass. Since it is very reactive, it can participate in manyreactions to form a variety of products. We report the selective gasphase decarbonylation (ηAD+CO=96%) of an aqueous solution of LA at583K over NaZSM5 zeolite making thisreaction an alternative to the commercial process for AD synthesis.
