Ion transport through mechanically constrained lipid electropores

Mechanical constraints were applied to selected atoms in molecular simulations of lipid electropores. With these constraints in place the pore dimensions remain constant regardless of the value of the applied electric field. These systems enable the study of electrophoretic and diffusive ion transport through lipid pores as a function of pore radius without the complication of a dependence of the radius on the applied field.
