Resumen:
Can we find explanations/theories/laws in biological systematics and taxonomy? My aim in this talk is to argue that it is possible to find laws and theoretical explanations in the field of taxonomy / systematics. The general line of defense will be to argue that in modern taxonomy, operationalizing the criteria of membership to a given taxonomic group presupposes (in most cases) the application of a properly systematic theory. I call this theory Cladistic theory (as distinguished from Cladonomy). I will present a formal reconstruction of this theory.
