Resumen:
The Washington Consensus introduced a new vision of development for the countries. This new vision based on the liberalization of the markets and on export growth is analogous to what existed before the crisis of 1929. Prebisch and the structuralists raised a way of understanding the macroeconomics to sail out of the crisis and to lead the slowed down economies towards improvements putting in the centre employment and income distribution, beginning from a notion of the technological diffusion as essence of the progress. That is to say, the industry, in his more wide sense, as instrument capable of extracting from the lag to the economies affected by the deterioration of the terms of exchange. The presents work tries to check the results of the export led model in terms of Structuralist thinking and analyse the results in terms of salaries, productivity, and income distribution.
