We performed a geophysical survey to characterize a recent hydrocarbon contamination plume, produced by an accidental puncture in a trunk oil pipe. For the prospection, we used the multi-frequency electromagnetic induction and geoelectrical methods. Through 1D inversions of the EMI data and 2D inversions of the DC data, we could determine the main characteristics of the contamination plume.
