Validation of transting planet candidates: a Bayesian view

Transiting candidate validation is essentially a Bayesian modelcomparison problem: different models, all explaining the observationscomparably well, compete for the support of the available data. Thebasic characteristics of the planet validation problem are discussed andthe different approaches taken to tackle its difficulties are reviewed.
