When did researching on television reception begin in Latin America?

The aim of this conference is to provide a comprehensive background on the communication field in Latin America by addressing the reconstruction of the communication and cultural field in three key moments: Its emergence as a discipline (during the late 1960s -1970s); Its institutionalization (during the late 1980s); and Its Professionalization (during the late 1990s). Specifically, I would like to reflect on when the researching on television reception began to be more common in Latin America. For that objective, I need to explain the reconstruction of the main theories and objects of studies during each period.
