Resumen:
It has been observed recently that the resonant Raman scattering (RRS) peak of an X- rayspectrum contains information about the chemical environment of the irradiated matter [1].This information is extracted with complex processing of the spectrum data. Principalcomponent analysis (PCA) [2] is a statistical multivariate technique that allows exploring thevariance−covariance structure of a set of data. This methodology can be applied to obtaininformation from any kind of spectra (In particular RRS spectra). To analyze itspotentiality, several measurements of different oxides in surface nanolayers weremeasured in total reflection conditions using synchrotron radiation from the LNLS, inCampinas, Brazil. PCA was used to obtain the information encrypted in the RRS peak, andto establish a new methodology [3]. The results show that multivariate analysis techniquesare suitable for the analysis of this kind of spectra, foreseeing its application in futureresearch.Leani, J. J.; Sánchez, H.
