YopH is a tyrosinephosphatase secreted by Ye that inhibits the phagocytosis and lymphocyteactivation. The role of YopH during in vivo infection haveyet to be completely elucidated. IFN-γ plays a central role in theimmune response against Ye. The aim was to compare IFN-γ productionin MLN after oral infection with Ye WA-314 (wild-type) orYeΔyopH (YopH deficient). Moreover, we analized the productionof IL-17, a cytokine associated with mucosal immune response.C57BL/6 mice were orally infected with 1?5 108colony formingunits (CFU) of Ye. The CFU in PP, MLN and S were determined 5days after infection. Intracellular cytokine production was analysedin cells from MLN by flow cytometry. We detected lower CFU inPP and MLN after Ye ΔyopH infection (p
