This congress (http://ras2014.com.ar ) was an optimal medium for scientific dissemination of studies of sedimentary rocks, sediments and their depositional environments and is held in Argentina every three years. This edition was the first of its kind organized in extra-Andean Patagonia. It was an excellent opportunity to present the IFG and the associated 1311 project to the sedimentological community of SA, because more than 200 specialists attended the meeting.The mid-day Worskhop of the SAQint3 project was attended by ca. 20 geoscientists, mainly by formal participants of the FG. Proposed tasks for yr. 2015 were analyzed and discussed there. A post-congress fieldtrip (3th September) "Geology and Paleopedology from the Quaternary of Peninsula Valdes, Patagonia" was sponsored by the 1311 project. It was coordinated by a formal participant (P. BOUZA; CONICET-Centro Nacional Patagónico) and assisted by 25 geoscientists, most of them recognized argentine quaternarists. They allow discuss in situ outcropping sequences and landforms belonging to the Quaternary of Valdés Peninsula with emphasis on cryogenic morphologies, carbonate accumulations and paleosols.
